Today’s Gospel invites us to reflect on the true identity of Jesus. Many people in Jesus’ time believed that the Messiah would simply be a descendant of King David. However, Jesus challenges this idea by quoting David himself, who calls the Messiah “Lord.” Through this, Jesus reveals that the Messiah is greater than David. He is not only from the lineage of David, but the Son of God who sits at the right hand of the Father. Jesus came into the world because of the deep love he has for us. His life, death, and resurrection are signs of this unconditional love. Are we living lives that reflect the love of Jesus? Do our actions show the compassion, forgiveness, and kindness that he taught us? The first reading reminds us of the importance of reading and knowing Scripture. When we read and reflect on God’s Word, we grow closer to him and begin to hear his voice within our hearts. We are invited to listen. Are we ready to open our”hearts and hear the voice of God speaking to us?
PRAYER: Abba Father, help us to remain faithful to what we have learned and believed. Amen.
