The money chase
  • 1 Timothy 6:2-12
  • Psalm 49:6-20
  • Luke 8:1-3

I recently attended a gathering where few people that I knew were present. We were in a round table discussing about what my friend called “the money chase”. Getting rich was a dream and a priority for a majority. One explained how you must give yourself over to something completely so you will become rich. One pointed out, to become rich, how you must build something so valuable that people willingly trade their hard-earned money, and how that requires blood, sweat and tears. One argued how money can’t buy you happiness while another friend was convinced how it makes things happen. But today in the Holy Gospel we are reminded of something completely contrasting. It reminds us of how early church was built and how the members of the church shared what they had in possession to build the ministry of our Lord Jesus. They gave up themselves and their belongings to become rich – they shed blood, sweat and tears to build the ministry, not the way world defines it but how it is defined by heavens

Prayer: Abba Father help me to understand my purpose in life and to detach my heart and soul from the things that traps me to this world. Amen.
