Friday March 01
Second Week of Lent
Bearing Fruit
  • Genesis 37:3-4,12-13,17-28
  • Psalm 105:16-21
  • Matthew 21:33-43,45-46

I feel that the Lord is posing a question to my heart: am I being fruitful in my life? It does not take long to go back down my memory lane to admit that I have been amply blessed, though I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Having received the experience of the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an adult, I have been graced with many a gift and fruit of the Holy Spirit, to walk through life as a beloved daughter of the Heavenly Father.

I have been invited to be in the heavenly realms with Christ Jesus. I know that all this was not for me alone, but to be a blessing to those around me. As we see in the first reading Joseph’s curses were turned into blessings for many nations, the Lord has brought good out of the bad situations in my life, when I trusted him, and chose to love those who caused me pain. How far have I been a good steward of the talents I have received? Or have I been like Joseph’s brothers, self-centered and envious of others’ blessings? Let us examine ourselves.

PRAYER: Abba Father, thank you for your Word that never changes. Amen.
