Provident Father
  • 1 Kings 12:26-32; 13:33-34
  • Psalm 106:6-7,19-22
  • Mark 8:1-10

Jesus became concerned because the people had nothing to eat. Therefore he performed a miracle and satisfied their hunger. Do we remember a time in our lives when we felt we did not have “enough?” We may have been lacking love, food, time, resources, a steady job or enough care from others. How did we respond at that time? Did we bring our “lack” to God for him to fill it? Or did we to try to fill it in other ways? Did we try to do it on our own? Let us ask ourselves: ‘what is the “lack” that we are experiencing at this time.’ Will we bring that “lack” to God and trust that we will have more than “enough?” Could we patiently wait upon his provident care for us? What is most important is that all our decisions, no matter whatever we choose, must be filled with love. In the end, love is all that counts. And hopefully, we will receive the gift of love from others and we definitely have received and will continue to experience God’s gift of unending, unfailing, unlimited and unmerited love.

PRAYER: Abba Father, thank you for taking care of our daily needs. Amen.
