Behold, your mother …
  • Hebrews 5:7-9
  • psalm 31:2-16
  • John 19:25-27
  • Luke 2:33-35

Mother Mary loved her Son Jesus with the perfect love of a mother that fully united her with His suffering. Her suffering was not despair but of love and endurance. Today we can relate to her pain and suffering– as a result of our sins and those of the world that nailed Jesus to the cross. Mother Mary didn’t turn bitter, angry, didn’t seek revenge or lose faith in the promises of God. She forgives, loves and support those around her and prayed in faith. Today we helplessly watch our loved ones’ die, the pain and sorrow is overwhelming!! Let us cling to our Mother who knows our pain and sorrow. Let us live her example of perfect love amidst the pandemic and chaos. Let’s support others with deep concern and compassion. When the world fails us like it did the Blessed Mother, we stand firm in the promises of God knowing that He is loving, merciful and above it all. “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”- John 16:33

Prayer: Abba Father, as we unite with all those suffering, we cast out this virus and all evil in your mighty name Jesus! Oh sweet Mother – pray for us. Amen.
