Bearing witness to Christ
  • Revelation 15:1-4
  • Psalm 98:1-3,7-9
  • Luke 21:12-19

Today’s Gospel proclamation warns us about possible persecutions that may take place for believers in Christ. However, it has been 2000 years and the Christian faith does not show signs of faltering or growing weak. Even in our trials and tribulations, the Lord strengthens us.

He promises to be with us even when the world seems to rise up against us. Therefore we do not have to fear, with God at our side what can happen to us? It would be safe to say that most of us who are reading this reflection are living in countries where Christians are not threatened with death. But let us remember that many of our brothers and sisters are persecuted on a daily basis in many countries. Let us thank God for their powerful witness for the Gospel of Christ. Let us also be bold in bearing witness to our Lord Jesus Christ by living in a manner that is worthy of our calling. If we are patient we will reign victorious with Christ. Let us not lose hope, let us be courageous disciples of Christ.

Prayer: Abba Father, may I be bold in living according to your Word. Amen.
