Through Him, with Him and in Him…
  • 1 Maccabees 2:15-29
  • Psalm 50:1-6, 15-29
  • Luke 19:41-44

The failures or disruptions we experience because of our ignorance or lack of knowledge can be pretty frustrating. The disappointment that stems from such instances often make us wish if only we had known better. In today’s Gospel proclamation, we see our Lord Jesus also wishing along the same lines as He says, “If this day you only knew what makes for peace”, because the people of old have failed to accept the way of salvation and were walking towards destruction. I feel we are no different. When troubles burden us, we look for quick ways to ease them, falling into ignorant ways of living. In anger we turn against our own family and friends, simply failing to remember that we are called to love one another as our Lord loves us. We follow crooked paths to get something done because we are not patient enough to wait on the Lord. However, it is never too late to turn back to the Lord, because we know that in Him, we can find perfect peace and forgiveness each time we fail.

Prayer: Abba Father, let us choose to follow in Your ways, even when things become hard, because You alone can fill us with peace. Amen
