Be connected to Christ.
  • Acts 15:1-6
  • Psalm 122:1-5
  • John 15:1-8

In today’s Gospel proclamation Jesus says that he is the vine and we are the branches. As long as we are attached to the true vine we have life. It is the Lord who nourishes us with his word and pours out his spirit on us. We become a new creation when we surrender our lives to him. It is the Lord who sustains us day in and day out. The weight of the world and our circumstances make us detached from Christ and then life becomes a struggle and we have to pull our weight in the flesh. We lose our peace, love and joy. In my own life the more I remain in the Lord the more I have strength to go on. It is my Lord who carries me on his wings. Like St. Paul said: “when I am weak I am strong” because it is my God who sustains me. There was a time when I tried to live on my own terms but failed miserably and lost my joy and peace. But today being connected with my Lord I know that every struggle, every shortcoming is a blessing to see the amazing love of the Lord in my life. So are we willing to remain attached to the true vine?

Prayer: Abba Father, help me to surrender my life to you. Amen.
