Through Him, With Him, In Him
  • Colossians 1:15-20
  • Psalm 100:1-5
  • Luke 5:33-39

A few years ago, while traveling on the main road from the town of Negombo towards Chilaw I noticed two Catholic churches on either side of the road opposite each other. This looked quite unusual to me. I asked someone what this was. He explained that these churches were built for two castes’ of people in the area. The smaller for the lower & poorer people & the one more grandeur for the wealthier & affluent other cast of people living in the same village. Both these churches can be seen even today one dedicated to St. Benedict whilst the poorer dedicated to Mother of Refugees. In today’s 1st reading St. Paul tells us that all things in the universe is created in Him & He alone holds things together. The world would have fallen to pieces if it wasn’t been held by our Lord Jesus Christ.

New ideologies keep coming in different names, antiracism, pluralism, coexistence etc. are possible only if the Lord holds the creation together. The wineskin was old, but the new wine needed to mature.

Prayer: Abba Father, give us the grace to mature and see things in the perception of being created by Him, for Him and In Him.. Amen
