Twenty-sixth Week in Ordinary Time
Share the Good News
  • Nehemiah 8:1-12
  • Psalm 19:8-11
  • Luke 10:1-12

Today’s readings teach us how to spread the Good News among the people. God is expecting this from us who have been nourished by his love. Having experienced his love our responsibility is to share this love with our neighbours. We need to step out of our comfort zones. The kingdom of God is at hand for you. We need to bring Jesus to the world. However, before we go to the world first we need to immerse ourselves in the love of the Lord. When we bear him in us we are filled with peace and joy. As scripture says in Mark 16:17 “These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons, they will speak new languages. They will pick up serpents with their hands, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mk 16:17-18) Let us be aware of our calling as disciples of the Lord and spread his Word among the nations. The Holy Spirit is always with us, strengthens us and leads us on this journey.

Prayer: Abba Father, give us the grace to bring your love to the world and make disciples in your name. Amen.
