“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
  • Judges 2:11-19
  • Psalm 106: 34-44
  • Matthew 19: 16-22

“I am the Lord your God; you shall not have any strange gods before Me.” The first commandment God Himself gave us. God gives us a promise – He is our everything! Yet we forget that God is the answer to everything in life. We make other things our god – our abilities, connections and power, wealth and possessions, desire to control, addictions such as clothes, alcohol, drugs, pornography, social media, electronic devices, gossip, the forbidden relationships, temporary pleasures that satisfy our body and emotions. In troubles we run to God to make God into the idol we want God to be – a God who satisfies our needs! When our needs are met, we quickly return to our worldly ways. God invites us to obey the 10 commandments and to also be perfect in our Spirit with Him. He wants us to surrender what we hold on to in place of God and then follow Him. Salvation is difficult for those who have much in the world and yet easy for those who leave it all for Christ. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” Matthew 5:3

Prayer: Abba Father, by myself I cannot follow you, but with your Holy Spirit I believe that all things are possible. Amen
