Twenty-second Week in Ordinary Time
Patience and endurance
  • Colossians 1:9-14
  • Psalm 98:2-6
  • Luke 5:1-11

God’s mercy never leaves us and in his time he answers all our struggles and issues. We should believe him not because of our ulterior motives, since we cannot hide anything from him, every little thing in our lives is widely open to him. As weak humans we maybe tempted to turn our direction away from the Lord, since we expect quick answers. However sometimes God allows pain and suffering to enter into our lives, not as a punishment but because he wants us to experience his presence in and through that struggle, issue or suffering. He is with us and he empowers us to face the reality of our lives.

We need endurance and patience to walk this journey in him. He never allows us to sink and his mercy rescues us from danger. Joshua 1:9 says “Do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord, your God, is with you wherever you go”. This scripture strongly penetrated my heart, and gave me the courage to persevere. Let us have faith because he will move mountains and set us free.

Prayer: Abba Father, may I be patient and endure the challenges of the spiritual journey. Amen.
