Tuesday December 28
He is light and there is no darkness in him.
  • 1 John 1:5-2:2
  • Psalm 124:2-8
  • Matthew 2:13-18

In the first reading, we can see how we are qualified to be in the light. It explains that we are all sinners, who can repent and be washed in the blood of Jesus. It is irrelevant what type of sinner we are. One can be a liar, prideful, or even self-righteous, we all have fallen short of the glory of God. How can we be qualified? As it says the wages of sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ alone. We are qualified not through human endeavor, it is only through his grace that we can stand in the light, only through the blood of the lamb. He qualifies us. He has brought us the privilege to escape from the hunter’s trap and break free. We are freely given the opportunity to walk in his path, in the light, what we must do is repent. Always have communion with him and have an intimate relationship, this will create an open heaven. Let us desire to do the will of God, walk in his light, and live a life pleasing to him.

Prayer: Abba Father, may we walk in the light of Christ. Amen.
