The Kingdom of God is within me
  • Jeremiah 7:23-28
  • Psalm 95:1-2,6-9
  • Luke 11:14-23

There is a famous saying: If there is a will there is a way. The Jewish leader wants to find fault with Jesus’ healing. Jesus responds in one sentence “the kingdom of God has come upon you.” The kingdom of God is in our midst. We are called to live according to its values. When we live according to the values of the kingdom, it becomes a reality even for others. How many of us are aware of the truth of the kingdom of God? Instead most of us are busy with other things and focused on the chaos around us. In our discipleship we are called to be vigilant about the fact that the “kingdom of God is within me”. We need to witness to this truth through our words and deeds. Are our words and deeds reflective of God’s love? Are our deeds leading others towards the kingdom of God? During this season of Lent we are called to be aware of our words and deeds. We have a divine calling to lead others to the kingdom of God. Therefore let us be more Christ-like in our words and deeds.

Prayer: Abba Father, help me to live according to the values of your kingdom. Amen.
