Seeking eternal realities
  • Romans 8:18-25
  • Psalm 123:1-6
  • Luke 13:18-21

There is no better time that can prompt us to open ourselves to accept the reality of life. Everything we have been holding on to have fallen away and the things we value have only let us down. It’s all perishable. Many have gone through the grief of losing a loved one. It causes so much pain and leaves a void that cannot be filled. But God is reminding us that these present sufferings are nothing compared to the glory that’s awaiting us in the arms of our Creator. What will not change is the love He has for us. We are indeed longing to be reconciled to our Maker. It is in His presence that we can fully rest. St. Augustine once said, “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until it rests in you.” Let us reflect on what really matters: the Kingdom of God. Let God transform us into places where our families and friends can come for rest. We need to be that person where they meet God or remind them of God.

Abba Father, as we face these difficult times help us to focus on your eternal light – Amen.
