There is power in the name of Jesus
  • 1 Corinthians 15:1-8
  • Psalm 19:2-5
  • John 14:6-14

The basic preaching of the early Apostles and disciples was to instil faith in Jesus. St. Paul repeatedly has stated that Christ died, was buried and was raised “according to the scriptures”. Nothing would take place that has not been in the Sacred Scriptures. The Passion of the Lord Jesus, his death, burial and the resurrection has been spoken and stated throughout the Sacred Scriptures. Therefore we need to believe that the Lord Jesus is risen and that he lives in us and among us in Spirit, specially in the Holy Eucharist. The Psalm tells us the message of salvation moves from one day to another. How does it happen? Those who have encountered the Risen Lord Jesus Christ experienced salvation and passed on the message to the next generation. In the Gospel proclamation the Lord Jesus makes it clear that the living God is a triune God and the word of God is true. We need only to believe and command in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
