Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch
  • Colossians 1:9-14
  • Psalm 98:2-6
  • Luke 5:1-11

In today’s reading, we see Peter and the fisherman has gone out and were washing their nets after a hard days work, they had returned without any catch. Jesus appears out of nowhere, gets into the boat and starts to teach the crowd, once he finishes teaching, he asks Peter to put out the nets to the deep and all of sudden they catch large amounts of fish.
Sometimes our lives are also like this.

We work so hard to achieve something in life, to provide for our children, we are exhausted, our lives are consumed by this fast pace world, the competition when we try to run this race of life by our own efforts, we bear less fruit with more effort. How- ever, if we let God lead us, devout more time to the word of God, spent more time in prayer and surrender our lives in to the mighty hands of God. Our lives become so much more fruitful, with less effort, God takes over and starts to steer the boat of our life, and everything starts to fall into its rightful place. God provides so much more than we could ever imagine.

Prayer: Abba Father, we ask you to give us the grace to lean on to your plan in our life, to take over our lives and steer us whichever way you will. Amen
