Saved from eternal death
  • Acts 9:31-42
  • Psalm 116:12-17
  • John 6:60-69

As we journey in this season of Easter Jesus is speaking to us with words of eternal life. Before his death when Jesus spoke about his body and blood which he sacrificed so that we could inherit eternal life, many could not understand and left him. Even when it was difficult to understand Peter and the rest of his inner circle remained with him. This Peter who said “Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,” is seen doing the same miracles his Master did: healing Aeneas who was paralyzed and raising up Dorcas from the dead. What is the secret behind all these? It is the connection he had to the risen Lord and the power of his words. We too are connected to his body through our baptism. Therefore we are no longer powerless, defeated servants but victorious children of God. In other words members of his Risen body. Let us renew our mind to this truth and experience the power of his body and blood. This is eternal life.

PRAYER: Abba Father, thank you for saving us from eternal death, and making us partakers of your victorious eternal life. Amen.
