Praise & Worship
  • Daniel 5:1-6, 13-28
  • Daniel 3:62-67
  • Luke 21:12-19

In the today’s world of social media stars and television wannabe’s, we are so used to giving praise and admiring people for their various skills. We see thousands of comments on YouTube or Facebook heaping praises on an artistic expression. But when it comes to giving praise to God, most people have a huge problem. Many say that they are contemplative and not charismatic. There is nothing wrong with either of the camps but the issue is when we cannot offer childlike simple praise to our God and creator. In the reading from Daniel when the king and his courtiers offered praise to the gods for the gold vessels, the hand appeared as warning on the wall. Do we need to see or hear a warning for us to start offering praise to God? Our Lord tells us that we will be taken before kings and governors and the reason is not that we will praised but that we will witness to the love of God and that His name will be lifted up and witnessed to.

Prayer: Abba Father, I praise and thank you for the gift of life and love I experience through your Son Jesus. Amen
