Open the eyes of my heart, Lord…
  • 1 Maccabees 1:10-15, 41-43, 54-63
  • Psalm 119:53, 61, 134, 150, 155, 158
  • Luke 18:35-43

Today we live in a world, where ‘our faith’ is put to the ultimate test. Science and technology are trying to play God. Human eyes are open to seeing the glory in success at any cost. People wish to create a comfortable future on earth. Are we blinded by this world and its powers of darkness? “I am the light of the world,” says the Lord; “whoever follows me will have the light of life.” John 8:12 God has many things in store for us but we must fix our gaze on the things above so we may see. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2 We may have troubles in this world but Christ has overcome the world by fixing their eyes on the Lord, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2 Today our Lord is asking me “What do you want me to do for you?”Am I willing to stand up for my faith even to be persecuted, ridiculed and put to death?

Prayer: Abba Father, have mercy on me, let me not grow weary and loose heart but stand firm in my faith for your glory! Amen
