Every rejection can be a reunion with the Father
  • Jeremiah 20:10-13
  • Psalm 18:2-7
  • John 10:31-42

There are moments in life when we face rejection. It may be due to some misunderstanding on our part or due to various circumstances. We are bound to face persecution or misunderstanding at some moment in our lives. How do we deal with these moments of persecution? In today’s readings the opposition faced by the Prophet Jeremiah and our Lord Jesus were real. Both had enemies who were out to get them with stones in their hands. Today when we are up against opposition, most often the threat is so real. The enemy becomes larger than life and bigger than God. Prophet Jeremiah mentions the threats and he adds, “the Lord, a mighty warrior is with me”. We are called to get right with God to the best of our ability and we can be assured that God is with us. “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still” (Exodus 14:14). His plan will be accomplished. When we are faced with rejection let us remind ourselves that the Lord is dwelling within us. We are held in the arms of love and God is bigger than our enemies.

Prayer: Abba Father, I turn my gaze away from those who reject me, to the one who receives me with love and mercy. Amen
