Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time
The Lord has done great things for us
  • Genesis 18:1-15
  • Luke 1:46-50,
  • Matthew 53-55 8:5-17

We see how great and merciful our God is, when he blessed Abraham and Sarah with a child in their old age.

Abraham held on to God’s promise and he was counted as righteous because of his unshakeable faith. The Bless- ed Mother sings to our Lord “the Mighty One has done great things for me, holy is his name.” God is doing great things among us. We only have to hold on to his promises like Abraham, our Blessed Mother and the centurion. What faith was demonstrated by the centurion in the Gospel proclamation when he said “Lord I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof, but only say a word and my servant will be healed.” It all happened to fulfill what had been said by prophet Isaiah “He took away our infirmities and bore our diseases”.

Let us hold on to this great promise believing that Jesus has already taken our sins and diseases on that cross 2000 years ago. He has completely healed us and forgiven us. There are countless times that many believers experienced his mercy and healings through this promise.

Prayer: Abba Father, thank you for setting us free from our sins and healing us. Amen.
