Open the eyes of my heart Lord
  • Genesis 8:6-13, 20-22
  • Psalm 116:12-15,18-19
  • Mark 8:22-26

Noah obeyed the Lord when he asked him to build an ark. He did not know if the flood would come or not. He did not know how he was going to build the ark. He did not know what life will look like after the flood. There were many unknowns but when God spoke to him he listened and obeyed. Today if we are caught up in life and do not have answers to many things, if it is all gray and we are blind not knowing what is next, Jesus is walking with us, like he did with his disciples on the road to Emmaus. He is speaking to us and sharing his Word with us, so that our eyes will be opened and we will recognize Jesus amidst all our blindness. Simeon held Jesus and said “my eyes have seen your salvation” (Luke 2:31). Let us hold Jesus in our lives, let us see him and hear him in our challenges and through the power of the Holy Spirit let us obey him even when we do not understand or see clearly. Our response in obedience will become a great blessing for our family, friends, and others. It will bring new life!

Prayer: Abba Father, open my ears to hear you, eyes to see you and grant me the grace to obey you in total surrender. Amen.
