Back to the Father’s Heart
  • Acts 13:26-33
  • Psalm 2:6-11
  • John 14:1-6

In the first reading, St. Paul reminds us that we have a faithful God, who is true to his Word. We were blessed to receive his son, Jesus. Even though, Jesus was ridiculed, humiliated and rejected by the world he died on the Cross out of love for his people. The responsorial psalm and gospel acclamation reveal how God is declaring Jesus as his only begotten Son, and he will inherit the nations and the universe. Jesus is leading us to the heart of the Father and inviting us to claim the truth that he “is the way, the truth and the life”. We should follow him to receive eternal life. Complete surrender to Abba Father is a basic requirement. In the Gospel proclamation, Jesus reveals to us that we have rooms in the house of God, and we would lack nothing. Jesus reveals to us the precious gift of the Father’s love: that we have become his adopted sons and daughters. Jesus also gives us a promise that he will come back and take us back to the Father’s heart.

PRAYER: Abba Father, thank you for the gift of your Son who conquered sin and death. Amen.
