Finding strength in the Lord and in his power
  • Ephesians 6:10-20
  • Psalm 144:1-2,9-10
  • Luke 13:31-35

Everything that could go wrong did go wrong in the last week. I was drifting away into the abyss of fear, anger and loss of peace, because of a person at work. I called my family hoping that a word they may say would comfort me, but that did not happen either. That night in prayer, I asked myself; where have I truly placed my confidence in? Was it on human authority and their frailties or on God’s unfailing and absolute power? St Paul exhorts; “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power and put on the whole armour of God”. As we gaze upon the magnificent face of the Lord Jesus Christ and invite the Holy Spirit, we find our strength in him, realising all other human power is puny before the majesty of our God. Because in the end, every knee would bow down before him. As we put on the full armour of God, and carry the word of God we will be ready to share the Gospel. Let us pray in the spirit, so that in his strength and in his power, we will be armed against the fiery darts of Satan.

Prayer: Abba Father, fill me with more grace that I may not take my gaze off you and strengthen me with your power. Amen.
