The Word of God stands forever
  • Isaiah 40:1-11
  • Psalm 96:1-3,10-13
  • Matthew 18:12-14

In today’s first reading Isaiah says that God “tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; he gently leads those that have young”. If you are a parent who is going through pain and suffering because of your children, remember the Lord is carrying you close to his heart. If you are a leader going through hardships because of those who look up to you, remember He is carrying you close to his heart. Have your actions negatively affected those who are dependent on you? Even still He is carrying you and He can make it right for all, for He comes with mighty power. The love of God towards His own is revealed in the Gospel proclamation through the parable of the lost sheep. He leaves the 99 to seek out the one that is lost. His love is limitless and has no boundaries. Each one is precious in the presence of God and is held by His love and mercy that surpass everything. Let us put aside our own understanding and hold on to his Word, for ‘the Word of God stands forever’(Is 40:8)

Prayer: Abba Father, open our hearts to Your Word, by the power of the Holy Spirit, so that we may hold onto the truths revealed by you. Amen.
