Carrying our daily cross
  • Micah 7:14-15,18-20
  • Psalm 85:2-8
  • Matthew 12:46-50

Jesus is asking a question “Who is my brother and sister” and he himself gives an answer to the question. “Whoever does the will of the Father in heaven is my brother and sister.” To be a disciple of Christ, we need to do the will of the Father in heaven. What is the will of the Father? This is what we need to find out. In Luke 9:23, Jesus looks at his disciples and tells them, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.” This is the will of the Father. Some of us find it hard to carry our daily Cross happily and willingly. When I am willingly carrying my daily cross, I am doing the will of my Father. When I am ready to carry the Cross, Jesus is there to help me. He gives us a promise that he will strengthen us right along the journey of life. “Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.” 2 Cor 5:5

Prayer: Abba Father, Father help me to do your will daily. Amen
