Seeing with the eyes of faith
  • Genesis 49:29-32, 50:15-26
  • Psalm 105:1-4, 6-7
  • Matthew 10:24-33

How much do we trust God? If we did, we would not be bitter, and resentful of the things that happen to us. We would have the power to forgive others as God forgives us because deep within us we would have the assurance that our lives when surrendered to God, come under his protection. No matter how dire the situation maybe, He will bring about His beautiful plan even in the most trying circumstances.

The Old Testament’s Joseph held onto God, trusting and obeying God, even when things continued to go from bad to worse in his life. Ultimately Joseph is blessed beyond measure and through him, many other lives including those of his own family are saved. In today’s Gospel proclamation we see the Lord Jesus beautifully portray this truth. Indeed our God sees all, knows all, and is all-powerful, we have no reason to fear, for he is our protection, we have no reason to be bitter because he is our recourse.

Prayer: Abba Father, increase my trust in you so that I will be able to look upon my life’s circumstances, with eyes of faith – Amen.
