The Lord always provides
  • Genesis 6:5-8; 7:1-5,10
  • Psalm 29:1-4,9-10
  • Mark 8:14-21

In today’s Gospel proclamation, Jesus asks a few hard questions from the disciples who witnessed the miracle first hand. They did not have faith to understand what the miracle meant. They could not comprehend that God would provide for them. At times, we too are like these disciples, having witnessed the many miracles God has done in our lives we tend to forget them when we are in a crisis. Since my childhood I have seen miracles in my life. I trusted in the Lord and he provided. This month I was running on bare minimum and as a single parent I had bills to pay and a house to run. I started to worry. I had forgotten what the Lord had done in my life before. We have a living God, a God who never lets us down. I repented for my lack of faith and the Lord did provide like he has always done. Sometimes we look at the world and our circumstances seem louder and bigger than God. But today the Lord is calling us to open our eyes of faith and to know him who loves us, he will never let our foot slip or stumble.

Prayer: Abba Father, help me to know you and hear your voice. Amen.
