Do we reject truth for sensationalism?
  • 2 Timothy 4:1-8
  • Psalm 71:8-9,14-17,22
  • Luke 2:41-51

We should be ready to serve God in any situation, whether or not it is convenient. We need to be sensitive to the opportunities God gives us. Many talk about the pursuit of knowledge. But often we do not want knowledge; but power. We do not listen to sound and wholesome teaching. We reject the truth and chase after myths. Some people claim to have more knowledge than the Bible; others attempt to improve God’s words. We do not tolerate the truth. We have no interest or respect for absolute truth or any standard for judgment. We reject truth for sensationalism. We want truth that fits our situation. Our truth is what we feel, what works for us and what seems compelling. Our views suit our selfish desires. Certain preachers have a following because they are telling people “whatever their itching ears want to hear.” False teaching can be found in many places. We must “keep a clear mind in every situation” and seek God’s Word for the truth.

PRAYER: Abba Father, may we seek the truth to glorify your kingdom all the days of our lives. Amen.
