Third Week of Easter
All we need is Jesus
  • Acts 8: 1 - 8
  • Psalm 66: 1- 7
  • John 6: 35-40

Jesus was about to reveal the purpose of his coming to earth. The people were focused on Jesus as they had come to the understanding that if they have Jesus as their king one of their biggest problems of finding their daily bread will be solved. But when Jesus said “I am the bread of life” they were confused. Jesus was talking about the spiritual hunger of people. We see that those who enjoy luxurious lives are still seeking something they have missed in the world and that the light, joy and peace they yearn for, will only come through a relationship with Jesus.

Therefore when we are conscious of Jesus who lives in us, we are assured that nothing can disturb us when facing challenges. We are also assured that God the Father and the Holy Spirit will overshadow us, leading and guiding our journey of life. The Psalmist speaks of the joy of being in this great intimacy of God and speaks of God’s creative ways of providence for his people throughout history.

PRAYER: Abba Father, open our hearts and minds to grasp the deep truths that Jesus is teaching us. Amen.
