Today’s readings show how an ordinary moment can be transformed by God into a divine encounter or a supernatural experience. Moses was at Mount Horeb tending his sheep, carrying out his daily work. Yet, in that ordinary moment, God chose to reveal himself and his plan to Moses, who, for his part, listened, engaged, and responded. This is what we are called to do: remain at- tuned to God’s voice. We learn to hear him in prayer, in worship, and through his Word, where he reveals his heart to us. This understanding is not attained through mere intellect but through grace, for it is the Father’s desire to reveal himself to us. In the Gospel reading, Jesus thanks the Father for hiding divine truths from the wise and learned, instead revealing them to the humble. God does not seek human wisdom but rather, childlike trust. Moses encountered God unexpectedly, and so we must remain open to his presence. When we surrender, listen, and respond, we allow God’s grace to transform us.
PRAYER: Abba Father, may we have childlike faith to be obedient to your voice. Amen.
