The first reading shows the victories of the Israelites, as they experienced God’s guidance and protection. This reminds us that God is present among us today, not distant but actively guiding and strengthening us. The Gospel reading teaches us to experience his presence through forgiveness. We are forgiven by God, and we are called to extend that same forgiveness. St. Maximilian Kolbe lived this truth to the fullest. In Auschwitz, he offered his life for another, embodying Christ’s love in the most radical way. Even in suffering, he forgave his captors and remained steadfast in faith, showing that true freedom is found in love and self-giving. By choosing forgiveness, we open our hearts to God’s peace, allowing his grace to work within us. Like St. Maximilian, let us embrace love over hatred, mercy over resentment. Forgiveness frees us from bitterness and unites us with Christ. Inspired by his example, may we walk each day with love, mercy, and compassion.
PRAYER: Abba Father, give us your grace to forgive others and to experience your love every day. Amen.
