God chooses specific people to accomplish his mission on earth. Gideon responds to God’s call, although he was apprehensive of the task assigned as he was a weak man. But God showed how he can do the impossible through the weakest. Responding to God’s call can be challenging. Jesus teaches his disciples, that riches and possessions can be an obstruction to being saved. But the Lord reminds them that what seems impossible for people is possible for God. St Augustine said: “God became man so that man might become God. The Lord of angels became human so that humans could eat the bread of angels.” When we become like him what we think, say, and do will be guided by the power of the Holy spirit. Nothing belongs to us in this world. If we surrender to God’s will, we will never fail. “All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (2 Tim 3:16). Therefore, let us live according to his word.
PRAYER: Abba Father, let your word guide our feet and enlighten our path. Amen.
