Jesus is the firstborn of all creation. He existed before anything else. He is not merely another prophet but God incarnate, completeness and wholeness itself. Everything, known and unknown, was created through him and dwells in him. He is God, who came down to earth to reconcile creation to himself. Only perfection can heal imperfection, and Jesus accomplished this through the blood of his cross. By dying on the cross, he restored creation, paying the penalty for humanity’s sin. His blood was shed to pave the way for us to enter into a relationship with God as his children—an invitation extended to all who believe and follow him. As Jesus welcomes us with open arms, inviting us to come as we are, are we willing to surrender everything to him? Will we allow his Word to radically renew our minds, letting go of old ideas and perceptions to embrace the new wine and wineskin he offers? Or are we still clinging to the old wineskin of the world?
PRAYER: Abba Father, I lay my life at your feet. Renew my mind and transform me. Amen.
