In today’s readings, we are reminded of God’s mercy, justice, and unfailing promises. Isaiah encourages us to walk in humility, repentance, and faith, trusting in God’s plan of redemption. Just as walking in darkness makes us long for light, our spiritual blindness makes us realize our deep need for Jesus, the Light of the world. Faith, as Pope Francis said, is a gift and a journey: it must be nurtured through prayer and action. Faith is not a feeling or a fallback when systems fail but a firm trust in God’s love and promises. The Gospel reading shows us this faith in action. While they had physical blindness, many of us experience spiritual blindness. Jesus still asks us, “Do you believe I can do this for you?” Faith grows when we spend time with God in prayer and deepen our relationship with him. Hope flows from faith, assuring us that God never gives up on us. Jesus, our Light, opens our eyes, restores us, and guides us out of darkness into freedom.
PRAYER: Abba Father, open the eyes of my heart. Amen.
