Jesus cured every disease among the people
  • 1 Kings 8:1-7, 9-13
  • Psalm 132:6-10
  • Mark 6:53-56

Bringing the Ark of the Covenant into the Temple, was a defining moment in Israel’s history: God chose to dwell among his people. The cloud that fills the sanctuary is a sign of God’s mysterious yet intimate presence: uncontainable, yet freely given. Holiness is not something we manufacture; it is God who comes to us, desiring to remain with his people. Jesus continues this same divine pattern. Wherever he goes, people recognize him and rush to bring the sick, trusting in his power to heal. In Jesus, mercy becomes tangible, approachable, and immediate. The God who filled the sanctuary with glory now walks through crowded villages, allowing ordinary people to draw near. Let us contemplate a God who is both majestic and personal. He dwells in glory, yet he also ministers to our wounds, our needs, our everyday places. We are called to welcome him with reverence; and to seek him with the same eagerness as those who ran to meet Jesus.

Abba Father, dwell within us and heal our hearts with your presence. Amen.
