Be true to your Word
  • 2 Corinthians 5: 14-21
  • Psalm 103: 1-4, 8-9,11-12
  • Matthew 5: 33-37

We are God’s children. The resurrection of Jesus is the pinnacle of the miracles of God. At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came down and empowered the disciples to carry out the mission of preaching and baptizing. Through the missionary work of apostles, disciples, priests and missionaries, we have received baptism and become ambassadors of Jesus. Ambassadors actively manage the relation-ship between the home country and the host. By the Paschal mystery God has reconciled us to him and has chosen us to stand in the gap for many who are in need of Jesus. Our role on earth is to live Kingdom values. If we live by our understanding we will be children of this world. Our lives will be shallow if we compromise Kingdom standards. The Gospel reading says that Jesus wants us to be transparent in our dealings. If we say yes it has to be yes and if we say no that has to be no. The Lord said: anything beyond that is evil. We are children of God, let us be true to our word.

PRAYER: Abba Father, help me never to compromise my true identity for temporary gain. Amen.
