Today’s Memorial celebrates the Blessed Mother’s pure, faithful love for God and humanity. The readings invite us to have unwavering trust in God, and compassion for others. In the first reading, Abraham and Sarah experience a divine encounter that reveals God’s faithfulness. Despite Sarah’s doubts, God remains true to his word. Nothing is impossible for God, so we could trust in his plans even when they seem beyond our understanding. Mary’s “yes” to God demonstrates her faith in his promises, despite the challenges she would face. In the Gospel reading, Jesus displays compassion, responding to the faith of a centurion. Jesus’ healing of Peter’s mother-in-law and many others re-minds us of his love and power to bring wholeness to those who believe. The Blessed Mother lived a life of deep faith and compassion. Like her, we are called to trust in God’s promises, embody his love, and bring his healing presence to those around us.
PRAYER: Abba Father, help me to follow your Son faithfully. Amen.
