We do not fall into sin by accident; rather, we often walk into it step by step through our own choices. Over time, sin becomes normal in one’s life and may even seem attractive. In the first reading, we see that even though angels came from heaven, Lot seemed to linger, as if he felt no urgency to leave the sinful city. Lot’s wife appeared to regret leaving the lustful city; her backward glance was not merely a look but a disobedient gesture, revealing a desire to return to the place God had commanded them to leave. God called them to go to the mountaintop, but Lot ended up in a cave, a place that brought him fear and darkness. Let us ask ourselves: Have we fixed our eyes on the Lord and surrendered ourselves completely to him? Do we hear his voice leading our way? Abraham’s intercession on Lot’s behalf played a significant role. Let us intercede for those who have strayed from the Lord, praying that, in His mercy, God will restore them.
PRAYER: Abba Father, oen we fall into problems because of the choices we make. May your light shine on us and guide our decisions. Amen.
