The world often measures success by recognition, wealth, or influence. Yet, the Word of God reminds us that true life is not found in what we accumulate, but in belonging to God. The souls of the just are in his hands, secure and at peace, even when misunderstood or overlooked by the world. How often do we seek approval, thanks, or acknowledgment for what we do? In families, workplaces, even in ministry, we sometimes grow discouraged when our efforts seem unnoticed. But Jesus teaches us to see ourselves as humble servants, doing what is asked of us not for applause but out of love for the Master. St Martin of Tours lived this out with simplicity and courage. He is remembered not because he sought glory, but because he clothed the poor, served with compassion, and offered his life as a witness of Christ’s love. Let us embrace our ordinary tasks with extraordinary love, trusting that in God’s eyes, no act of faithfulness is ever wasted.
PRAYER: Abba Father, may I be humble and faithful. Amen.
