Jesus loves us regardless of who we are or what we have done. To Love God and serve him in return is to love others as he has loved us (John 13:34). Wanting to dutifully share with the world what I have experienced of God; sharing my testimony, dolling out spiritual advice, appearing to the world as holy, only served my ego, but not the Lord who still loved me. Jesus cautions us in John 15:4; we cannot bear fruit unless we remain in him. To heed the Spirit is to march to a beat the world does not hear nor understand. To reflect God in our actions, to show kindness in the face of cruelty and disloyalty, to wait on God when in crisis, against our nature to seek solutions, and to hold our tongue when the Spirit whispers “Not now”. In the eyes of the world I maybe weak. I have found that serving God is not about being loud and boastful, but being quietly reflective of him. Those who know me, may not know the true nature of Jesus, but I hope I am “A work in progress”.
PRAYER: Abba Father, give me the grace to put your glory before my comfort. Amen.
