Give thanks to God with a Grateful Heart
  • 2 Kings 5:14-17
  • Psalm 98:1-4
  • 2 Timothy 2:8-13
  • Luke 17:11-19

The first reading is about the healing of Naaman, who was grateful and returned to thank Elisha. Jesus healed ten lepers. But only one returned to thank him. At that time, leprosy was a deadly disease with no treatment. Though it was a physical disease it would have given rise to many psychological and emotional problems. Getting healed from leprosy was a great miracle. How many miracles have we experienced? Are our eyes open to see them and thank God for them? 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says to give thanks in every circumstance. Whether it is favorable to us or not, we need to thank God. We seek blessings, but when we receive them do we put the crown on ourselves or give thanks to God? Every moment is from God. Love, grace, salvation and all spiritual blessings are from God and we should not forget to thank God. ‘We love because he first loved us’ (1 Jn 4:1). There is a relationship between faith and salvation. Faith comes from hearing the word of God. So, let us read the Word daily.

PRAYER: Abba Father, thank you for everything. Amen.
