The Bible is filled with timeless principles, clear instructions, and examples of living a balanced, fulfilled, blessed life. God’s Word never has, nor ever will become irrelevant, regardless of changing times and seasons, and is available to prepare and equip us to accomplish God’s purpose for our lives. By allowing God’s word to penetrate our thoughts and shape our conscience, we can examine our attitudes and motives. When we do so, his Word becomes the most effective guide for living life. Understanding God as the Father is crucial because it defines who we are. When we grasp this truth, it changes the way we think. We are no longer orphans, striving for approval or fearing rejection, we are beloved sons and daughters, secure in the Father’s love. In the Gospel reading, Jesus says that when we give, we should not expect anything in return. When we lend a hand to those who cannot repay, we reflect God’s love. When we share our blessings with others, we share Christ with them.
