Judgement Day
  • Exodus 24:3-8
  • Psalm 50:1-2,5-6,14-15
  • Matthew 13:24-30

The parable of the weeds shows us the reality of this world. God created man out of love (Eph 1:4-5) and we are predestined for eternity with him. Yet the enemy tries to sow evil in our hearts. Good and evil exist together. We expect to see the wicked punished in this life itself. When it does not happen we may question, ‘Why?’. People ask if God does not see what is happening? Some ask where God is. Jesus is telling us that both the wheat and the weeds will be there. Wicked deeds of evil people may bring about their own destruction, but God is not going to eliminate them prematurely. Our God is a loving God, full of mercy and compassion. He waits, knocking at our door until we open it (Rev 3:20). At the judgment, the wicked will go to their punishment. They will not be able to behold him. We are so fragile, weak, and tend to fall into sin. Repenting as soon as we fall, would get us back on our feet. Returning to the Lord should be our way of life.

PRAYER: Abba Father, grant me the grace to return to you whenever I fall. Amen.
