Listen to the Word
  • Jonah 3:1-10
  • Psalm 130:1-4,7-8
  • Luke 10:38-42

We are created in the image of God. Therefore, we cannot live separated from God. Great was the love that God had for his people. He called the prophet Jonah to save them from the destruction that they would have had to face. Our thoughts and actions could be influenced by worldly ways. But God invites us to live by Kingdom values and attitudes. To inculcate God’s attitudes within us we need to have intimacy with God. In the Gospel reading we see different characteristics of the two sisters. One sat at the feet of Jesus and listened, while the other focused on serving Jesus. When we are filled with the love of God and experience the presence of Jesus, our lives would be fulfilled. Sitting at the feet of Jesus, let us attentively listen to his words. In our daily prayer let us seek the path to reach the heart of God. We need to practice what he reveals to our hearts. Faith is not meant to be kept for ourselves. Let us share it and invite others to a deeper relationship with Jesus.

PRAYER: Abba Father, grant me grace to sit at your feet and to listen to your word. Amen.
