Today’s readings remind us of the transformative power of listening to God’s Word and opening our hearts to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is an invitation to ponder on how we can grow in our relationship with God. In the First Reading, we see a woman named Lydia. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, her heart is opened to the message proclaimed by Paul leading to her conversion and baptism. As an act of hospitality, she offers her home to Paul and his companions. Just like Lydia, we are called to engage with the Word of God. We are to listen attentively, meditate upon it, and allow it to take root within us. In the Gospel reading, Jesus speaks of the Holy Spirit who will come to guide and empower his disciples. He assures us that we will never be alone in our journey of faith. The Holy Spirit is present in our lives to provide guidance and strength. Through the Holy Spirit, even in the face of opposition and persecution, we are empowered to be true witnesses of Christ.
PRAYER: Abba Father, may we be open to the transformative power of your Word. Amen.
