Living with Divine Hope
  • Proverbs 8: 22-31
  • Psalm 8: 4-9
  • Romans 5: 1-5
  • John 16: 12-15

One of the first prayers we learn as children is the sign of the cross. We trace the cross over ourselves every time we pray, as a poignant reminder of the love of God poured out to us from the cross and a request for the grace and power of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Our minds cannot fully comprehend, nor explain God. The Holy Trinity reminds us that God is a community of love. Since we are made in God’s image we too are made to live in community. In the Gospel reading, we see how Jesus understood that the minds of the disciples were unable to grasp the truths he was revealing to them, and so he informs them that the Holy Spirit would open their minds to divine revelation and wisdom. Our tomorrow may be uncertain and filled with challenges, but as we trust the Triune God and abide in his presence we can face our future with divine hope, peace, and joy by the grace and power of the Holy Trinity.

RAYER: Abba Father, fill my heart with your presence and open my eyes to eternity as I surrender my life into your hands. Amen.
