The letter of St John reminds us of our divine inheritance: “Beloved, we are God’s children now” (1 John 3:2). Becoming a child of God is not something that we must strive to achieve, nor could we possibly earn it by our good works. God’s son, Jesus has already purchased that identity for us. Are we living up to that identity? Do others see the true nature of our Father through us? Being a child of God grants us access to unimaginable blessings. However, it also places a great responsibility on us. As God’s children, we are called to use the authority and power he gives us in our mission. As we see and do what the Father shows us and does; blessings, healings and deliverance will take place. We realise that our Father is far greater and stronger than any of our problems. We can move mountains or shatter them into dust by the power of the name of Jesus. Let us humbly receive his love, mercy, and forgiveness and let it flow from us to the world around us.
PRAYER: Abba Father, may we always remember who we are and whose we are. Amen.
