Quiet Faithfulness
  • Daniel 1:1-6, 8-20
  • Daniel 3:52-56
  • Luke 21:1-4

Faith is often tested not in grand gestures but in daily decisions. Daniel and his companions remained faithful in a foreign land by choosing integrity in the smallest matters. Their courage was not only in resisting kings but in guarding their hearts from compromise. This is the soil where true holiness grows: quiet faithfulness when no one applauds. In the Gospel reading, the poor widow gives two small coins, yet Jesus sees love in her offering. She did not give from abundance, but from trust. In a world that values power, wealth, and status, she reminds us that God measures not how much we give, but how much of ourselves we place in his hands. The martyrs we honor today, embodied both Daniel’s faithfulness and the widow’s total offering. They gave not only possessions or comfort, but their very lives. Their witness challenges us: do we give God only what is convenient, or do we offer him even what costs us deeply: our pride, our time, our comfort zones?

PRAYER: Abba Father, I surrender all. Amen.
